What is PayPal?

How does PayPal work?

With PayPal, you can send and receive payments through the internet. Once you sign up for PayPal, you can  send money to anyone with an email address using the money from your PayPal balance or another funding option of your choise. Recipients are notified by email that they have received a payment.

 

How do I sign up for PayPal?

Just click the Sign Up button at the top of the PayPal home page. After you fill out the registration form, we'll send you an email to confirm that you receive messages at that email address. Once you confirm your email address, you account is activated.

Here's How:

  1. Click on the Sign Up link at the top of any PayPal page.
  2. Fill out the one page sign up form.
  3. Click Sign Up.
  4. Check your email in box.
  5. Click on the link in the PayPal Confirmation email.
  6. Enter your password and click Confirm.
  7. You have finished signing up and may start using your PayPal account.

 

Do I have to complete my membership before I send money?

To see if you can send before you complete your membership, view your Sending Limit from your Limits page.

  1. Click on the My Account tab.
  2. Click the View link next to your balance information.
  3. Your remaining sending limit is listed under the 'Sending Limit' heading.

 

How do I lift my Sending Limit?

You may lift your Sending Limit by adding a credit card and completing your PayPal Membership.

 

What is my Sending Limit as a new non-U.S. member?

Some non-U.S. members may send money prior to completing their membership. You can view your Sending Limit from your Limits page. Once you have completed your membership, your Sending Limit will be lifted.

Here's How:

  1. Click on the My Account tab.
  2. Click the View Limits link next to your balance information.
  3. Your remaining sending limit is listed under the 'Sending Limit' heading.
